祖卡利 10首
Francesco Maria Zuccari (1694-1788) was an organist and choirmaster at the Basilica of Assisi, among other places. These sonatas for cello and basso continuo are from a set of 10. As you may judge from his dates, he is a borderline composer between the baroque and classical styles and is interesting in his lively rhythms and light lyricism. These are quite virtuosic pieces with a conversational relationship between the solo and the basso continuo line that makes them sound quite original. These players make this work for them enjoyably. The early-music style is in charge in these readings. I only wish that the use of open strings and certain harshness in the sound had been less prominently displayed. You won't find these works elsewhere; and, in general, they are convincingly performed.
