这个是一个老鸟写的评论 http://headwize.powerpill.org/ubb/showpage5.php?fnum=1&tid=2295
比较全面的综述性文章,提及了很多别的媒体对590的评价,而且他特别强调了褒的重要性
The Sennheiser HD590 always represented something like a small mystery to me. Reviews in various German Audio-Magazines came to quite different conclusions. Some ranked these headphones equal to the HD580/HD600. Others found these cans clearly lagging behind.
More personal reviews found on the various websites were less negative. Actually the opinions on audioreview, for instance, are rather positive.< >On the other hand, experts like the guys from Headroom appear to have a less positive opinion.< >
Intriguing.< >Nonetheless, there seems to be quite some primary interest in these cans. The major reason is their relatively low impedance of 120 Ohm and their efficiency that make these cans an easy drive for portable equipment.< >To see for myself I ordered two specimen of these headphones from the German distributor and compared them to the Beyerdynamic DT931 (my personal favourite) and the renowned Sennheiser HD600.< >The first thing that makes these cans different from the ordinary is the visual design. These do not resemble any classic headphones I know of. Rather futuristic lookings. Elder people probably won't like them very much. The younger generation will find it "cool". I'm somewhere in between (as for age :-)< >Lifting these headphones makes you think. These are very light weight! Now, it's not very desirable for a headphone to be heavy, but haven't the Sennheiser engineer gone a little bit too far? The construction does not feel as if it would hold out for a longer period of intensive use.
However, I might well be mistaken with that. Thus far my Sennheisers always have proven to be reliable partners.< >The cans have a single sided cord that is connected to the earpiece via a small miniconnector. Very elegant solution.
The cord seems flimsy though. Only one thin "cylinder" implies that the three conductors (ground, left signal, right signal) are placed very close together and that interaction between the two channels might well appear.< > lacing this phone on my head is a relief when compared to many other headphones. This one is very comfortable. The large and soft paddings, the light weight and the openness of the cups (air circulation!) make these a joy to wear.< >Less enthousiastic I initially was on its sonic merits. Right out of the box these cans sounded blurred and hollow. Single instruments were soft-focused and ill-defined. No match for its competitors.
These competitors, however, were used copies. For a fair comparison I gave the HD590 an intense 24 hours burn-in and this clearly helped.
The definition of the soundstage now was much better. most of the hollowness had disappeared. Actually, these phones sounded quite well balanced. What surprised me most was that I never could reproduce the brightness that various other people have reported of. These cans are not bright. Sure, they show more treble than the HD600, but this for me is not a negative aspect. I personally always have found the HD600 a little bit too laid-back. On the other hand the DT931 are certainly more bright than the HD590.
Nonetheless I was not completely satisfied and had the feeling things were non-optimal yet. Therefore another 24 hours of burn-in.
Although changes were more subtle now, the HD590 still further improved. A nice tonal balance between bass, midrange and treble. makes these headphones very agreeable. Maybe transients are a little bit slow (but so is the HD600), maybe the midrange is a little bit nervous, and maybe soundstage is not as well focused as with its competitors, but the overall sound was really pleasing.
The only thing that caused a slight irritation is a kind of hollowness and coloration that made me feel a little bit nervous.
I would not be surprised that this could be cured by using a better cable, but I haven't tried.
At the end, are these good headphones? The answer to me is a definitive yes.
Are they equal to the HD600 / DT931. Mmm....., this is a more difficult question. Both competitors are a little bit more refined and have a kind of easiness in doing their job that the HD590 is slightly lacking. However, please note that I used very high resolution equipment with a dedicated headphone amp. Things will be different when using portable equipment.
It is with portables or with the standard headphone jacket of your CD-player where the HD590 is in its element. Easy to drive, slightly veiling the intrinsic limitations most portables have, and a high level of comfort make these cans a pleasure to use. This is the kind of can I would take with me on vacation, together with my portable CDP.
One little snag. These headphones should be driven with a low output impedance. Higher impedances (as found on the headphone jackets of integrated amplifiers and receivers) make these phones sound lazy and muddy. In this case the DT931 is a clear first choice.
Happy listenings,
Jan
